Atom Feed / News Archive / Reference]: Check out this web service offering access to the site's wind and weather database. Use the contact form to get in touch with me if you wish to use this service in your applications.
- METAR & TAF Reports: Search for current or historical METAR and TAF reports for any airport.
- Short-term Weather Forecast: Obtain weather charts for different regions of the Earth showing the high-resolution forecast at three-hour intervals for the next 36 hours. You have the option to subscribe to an Atom feed (a new kind of RSS) for the latest METAR and/or TAF for any airports in the database—just search for the latest METAR or TAF reports (leave the Date field blank) for your choice of airports and you will see the link to the relevant Atom feed.
- Maritime Weather Forecast: Gives you a general overlook of the sea state in a given area or for the entire world, and lets you obtain virtual buoy data for any given location on the oceans.
- VFR Flight Planner: A tool for quickly planning cross-country VFR flights by entering a route consistent of aerodromes, navaids, and airway intersections. It automatically calculates wind corrections based on a continuously updated winds database, and it offers weather forecast analysis along your route.
- Various bits and pieces of free software, including qtGPSc, a GPSD client; ApcUps, a KDE4 plasmoid (desktop widget) to monitor uninterruptible power supplies; and the GroupActions KDE4 service menu, an exercise in usability to make it easier for normal computer users to take charge of their group sharing permissions.
